(raises hand) I'm hired and working as a "chaplain extern" with one of the biggest hospitals in the city here. If we're uncomfortable with being called chaplains ✡️ or Buddhist, we can also call ourselves spiritual care providers.
I had my first solo overnight shift (12.5 hours) last night. I regret being on my feet for about seven hours, but otherwise I'm good and feel I provided appropriate care to people in crisis.
