Catching my breath
2004-12-30 11:29 pmWell, things are nowhere near the point where they should be, but at least I've made some progress. Got the charity requests organized, ready to write checks tomorrow morning. (I tend to throw most of them into a big pile, and pay them in a batch at the end of the year. It's called the shoebox method of accounting.)
Meanwhile, I'm unlikely to have a CD ready for GaFilk, but I'll at least have a couple of demo disks to scatter around. Need to redo a couple of tracks. The website still needs work, but the Makefile for album directories is working. And I think my voice will hold out; it was looking dicey for a while, since I tend to get a cold this time of year. The trick, I've found, is to take enough decongestants to keep my nose from getting stuffed up -- the resulting sniffling is what gives me a sore throat.

If I hadn't just bought a car, and if the credit cards weren't nearly maxed out, we might have gone for it.
The Y.D. actually told her sister on the phone that she misses her. That genuinely surprised me -- when they're together they're more likely to be yelling at one another. Growing up? Maybe.
