Done Since 2025-09-07
2025-09-14 07:28 pmOn the whole it's been a pretty good week, modulo problems with the kitchen plumbing, and my internal plumbing. But music! With m leaving next week for the US until the end of October, we had to get as many of their tracks on the new Kaleidofolk album as possible recorded. For this we needed scratch tracks, and as of this afternoon we have them. We have studio time booked for Wednesday and Thursday.
We visited StudiOjo Friday evening. It's only 450m away -- an easy walk even for us. I'll be saying more about the album soon, presumably; all that's needed is time to write it. For now, I'll just mention the title, Winds of Time, which comes from a line near the end of the next-to-last track, "Millennium's Dawn".
In the process of searching for an instrument cable I came across my MXL large-diaphragm condenser mic, so the purple RØDE NT1 I've been coveting will have to wait until this project is done. Hazard pay.

~ 16-19 kf pm session - N says I'm supposed to be on break
" (me, 20:30ish) I have just gootten back from shuttling eight or ten (I lost count) bags
of garbage from the front patio to the garbage bins at the end of the block. Some
were in the recycling bins. I put two that appeared to be mostly cardboard back in
the house, where they will stay dry until somebody FOLDS UP the cardboard and gets it
ready for recycling. Meanwhile, I'd like somebody WHO IS NOT ME to bring down the
broom and dustpan which I think are inn front of my bedroom, so that they can collect
the cat litter that dribbled out of the bag that was put in upside down. There is a
small black wastebasket next to the door on the other side from the bins, and tjey can
use that to put the litter in.
Next week somebody WHO IS NOT ME will have to explain to the cleaning lady what is
supposed to be done with garbage, recyclable plastic, and recyclable cardboard and
which containers they belong in. "

pitch instability. N and M want 4-channel scratch tracks so they can balance them

on Toolmakers (WTF?); one mic cable is suspect -- hissing. For a while I was
afraid I might have to replace one of the NT5s, which would have been expensive.
