The smoker/grill has been assembled. Took 3-4 hours altogether. I'm not sure whether it really counts as exercise, but it feels like exercise -- I'm exhausted, and my back hurts (though not a whole lot) from bending over too much. And my runny nose is back, bringing a headache along for the ride. But the smoker -- our anniversary present from Mom -- is assembled, and the [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat is happy, so I'm happy.

The light in the office is out -- it appears to be a problem with the wiring, not the bulb. I'm making do with a clamp light from the bedroom. Grumble.

There's a glass of gin in my future hand.

Albums are still available for preorder.

Got what may be one good track of chorus vocals with Joyce on "The End of the World as we Knew It". Our attempts at "High Barratry" were plagued by what turned out to be permission problems. Since recording and editing tend to be done by different users and sometimes on different machines, this is likely to be an ongoing hassle. (Recording as myself would require two different home directories; I might need to do that.)

I did, however get a fair amount done on build tools and the website over the weekend. And the high point was getting the artwork from [livejournal.com profile] artbeco for the album cover and the back of the booklet (which will also get used for things like posters, because it's all kinds of cool that way). I'll probably also use it as a background for the tray card.

I also pulled down a copy of my transaction history from Paypal, hoping that would give me some hints about data formats. OpenOffice handles the csv file just fine, but it's not really what I need in a customer database. Back to plan B.

More about computers and recording gear -- serious geekery. )

Bed-time for bears, it is. Past bed-time. A busy three weeks coming up.
