In this case I'm not referring to the bonus disk but the data entry for preorder forms. It took most of today and quite a lot of yesterday to write and test the form and CGI program, but it works the way I want it to now. I'm paying the [livejournal.com profile] chaoswolf to do the actual work.

Getting the web preorders done will require additional work tomorrow, but it's simpler because the transactions are already downloaded in CSV format, and I have them in email as well. As an inveterate Perl hacker the simplest thing will probably be to crunch the email.

Confirmation emails should go out sometime next week. With luck and a good deal more work the actual album should be shipping sometime in late March or early April.

I also managed to squeeze in a 3-mile walk and a little shopping.

Album preorders so far: Cash/check: 23; Web: 31. A handful of contributor comps, gifts, and promotional packages. So there are still about 200 available. I don't actually expect to sell them all by the time they go out for duplication, but one can hope.

Reminder: the preorder package includes the Coffee, Computers, and Song CD itself and a bonus disk called About Bleeding Time, both signed and numbered in a limited edition of 256 sets, for only $20.

As for the actual album status, well, the bulk of the recording is done, the photography is done, the album cover and disk labels are done, the text is mostly done, and the layout is sketched out. There are still a few stray parts to record, which I expect to take care of this week. Full to-do lists here and here.
