Done Since 2020-02-09
2020-02-16 02:52 pmI'm slightly surprised -- some things actually got done this week. (Note the passive voice -- any sense of accomplishment I might have had [pause for brief side-trip down a grammatical rabbit-hole -- it appears to be conditional past perfect] after having done them is mostly overshadowed by dismay at the number of things that haven't been done over the last several years and still need doing.) (See also, this post.)
Anyway, some of the week's activities included making plane, hotel, and shuttle reservations for Consonance, putting up some shelves in the garage, taking books out of the top few of the 20-odd boxes and putting them in no particular order on the shelves, and taking some of them up to the house. (I think I have most of the Tolkien and tiny house books up now.) I did a little singing, because I'm trying to do that more often, but still haven't come up with anything for FAWM. I've been reading actual dead-tree books.
I went over to Island Drug to pick up the CPAP supplies I'd ordered, and was not surprised to find that they weren't there. As usual. I first put the order in a month ago; I've been buying filters and tubing out-of-pocket from Amazon since the previous order took a similar amount of time. Yelp reviewers are complaining about the need to give at least one star.
I also worked on cleaning up my home directory on Cygnus, which I sold to S a week or so ago. (Not the best machine in the house by a long shot, but the smallest and lightest one that's actually usable.) Spent some time looking at cloud storage services (again). Keybase looks particularly interesting -- the association with cryptocurrency makes it a little sketchy in my mind, but 250Gb of free, client-side-encrypted storage makes it interesting.
My back is mostly better, or at least not hurting so much that I can't ignore it most of the time. That's good, because my first PT appointment isn't for another week and a half. (Yes, I should have called immediately after getting the referral.) (Okay, I shouldn't "should" myself. It would have been better if I had called, etc.)
