Hi. My name is Steve, and I'm a domain name addict. But GoDaddy just makes it so easy!

My latest acquisition was mydotsite.net, because I sang "I Wanna Be a Webmaster" last Wednesday and, after making my usual complaint that site.net was taken, somebody had the bright idea of playing the slashdot game with it.

A couple of days before that it was savitzky.net, just because I felt that somebody in my generation ought to have one, and to defend the family name against the poachers. (savitzky.com is owned by my nephew, [livejournal.com profile] asavitzk.)

So I just counted 10 virtual websites stacked up on my DSL line right now, and that's not even counting the ones at my ISP, and the ones I haven't done anything with. Hey, at GoDaddy's prices, a domain name is cheaper than a movie. Hours of fun for the whole family.

Or maybe I'm just easily amused.

If you setup a community for domain name addicts, I'll join.
Actually, I should see if one already exists...
*Wonders how many domains resolve to 68.167.141.246...*

Heh. Defending the family name is exactly why I got savitzky.com years ago. :) I think I got savitzky.org at one point too because back then I believed there was a point to differentiating between .org and .com groups but then I decided I didn't care just like everyone else so I stuck with the .com. :)

Isn't it neat that those of us with unusual last names can have our own domains?

But having only four domains registered to my name, I'm not a true domain junkie.

Make that five.
I had to download Mozilla to register oddnumbers.org, because neither iCab nor Safari recognizes the certificate which godaddy uses. It's annoying, but if this means they aren't contributing to Verisign's income, more power to them.
