Every morning when I take the YD to school she asks, "Why do I have to go to school?" just before she gets out of the car, and then answers "Why?" to every answer of mine. This morning I tried something different and said "I'll explain later" -- which stopped her completely. She was obviously quick enough to figure out what my next answer would have been: "Because you have to go to school now."

...and when she got home from school, did she ask, or did you make a point of sitting down and telling her?

Oooh, hey, that would be a good one - to break her of the habit, make the Q&A session take up her *free* time!

I'll let you know after I get home from work (it's still only 6pm here in CA). My guess is that she won't.
