I took the day off from work to serve as the [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat's designated driver after her colonoscopy and endoscopy (video from both ends). They didn't find much, thank goodness: inflamation in her colon, which she got meds for; nothing in the stomach. Colon partly blocked by a hernia, and somewhat twisted around, so the next step is a barium X-ray to try to see past it. Then, eventually, surgery to fix the hernia and whatever else they find.

Then we went to Central China and picked up some Chinese to go for lunch. Colleen was in remarkably good shape after the procedure in spite of having been "sedated" (IV of some kind of happy-juice), but didn't feel up for sitting in a restaurant. She fell asleep in the nice, warm car while I went in and got the goodies. Always said she was a cat.

Probably the worst part of the whole experience was the fact that she couldn't take her aspirin (for arthritis) for a week. That and the saline laxative, which tastes ghastly. If you're under 50, just you wait! If you're over you've probably been there, done that, watched the video. You have my sympathy.

I received a sygmoscopy (sp?) at 40, right after Silicon.

I spent the weekend drinking broth and liquid Jell-O.

On Sunday, I took th the saline laxative, which does taste horrid, and for me worked in about 20 minutes, rather then hour or two.

However, come Monday, I got the combo thrill ride and medical show. I could see the monitor and it was like watching a TLS show on roller coasters, but it was my large intestine that we were traveling through. Wish they had given me the tape. ;)
