At work, we've been getting ready for our annual research review. It's a big deal, because that's what the lab actually gets paid for (though it's strongly suspected that the copy of our research report that goes to the beancounters is evaluated by either mass or page count -- hey, we're a copier company: it's all about Total Document Volume). Anyway, we had our "Asahi Super Dry" run yesterday -- that's the one we do in the group, before the "real" dry run next Friday that's open to everyone in the lab. The real presentation is on May 5th.

Yesterday morning, in the process of adding some last-minute features (vital ones, like the ability to update encrypted directories), I managed to totally break the miniserver. Luckily, we were working more on the slides than on the demo. Took me all of yesterday afternoon and all this morning to find the problems; the main one was returning null from a glue function that I wasn't looking at, and that should have been returning this. (Hits forehead with palm.)

Some simple refactoring, license boilerplate, a documentation update, and the code could be ready for an open-source release in about a month. Watch this space. Projects in line for the weekend are giving a thorough critical listen to the tracks for the demo album, and whipping the website into shape.
