Spring Cleanup

Well, there were dumpsters galore in the neighborhood; I just had to drive around a bit until I could pull the van in behind a fresh one. (The first one I tried was full, and the crew waved me off.) The teenagers were still asleep and hadn't sounded very happy about their mom "volunteering" them for trash duty (and chaoswolf had her door locked in any case), so I did it myself. Not really hard, about 20 minutes at each end. You can't get all that much into a minivan without taking the seats out, but I managed to get almost all of the chipboard, dead plastic baskets, and assorted other items. Ended by throwing the dead weedwhacker like a javelin onto the pile, earning an appreciative grunt from the guy on stacking duty.

I don't think I'll do a second run; most of what's left is jungle vine, and I don't have a way to transport it even if it were chopped up into clippings, which it mostly isn't yet. We were planning a dump run anyway.

Still to go this weekend are:

• figure out my Baycon setlist (since it looks like I'll have one)
• figure out what needs to be re-recorded for my demo album
• work out the Makefile scripting for making music + CD-ROM (CD-Extra) disks.
• continue restructuring my "collected works" pages
• see how much bandwidth the Debian mirror eats up
• do some more system administration
• Mother's Day brunch with the flower_cat
• call my Mom.

Hopefully. I was actually hoping to have some actually duplicated at that point, but the taxes and other trivia ate up too much of my limited attention (i.e., I procrastinated). With luck I'll have samples.

Sorry I had to keep away from music this year. I know that it isn't all that it should be. Or even close as I found out last weekend.

The person running it this year never contacted me for info or anything.

Actually, it looks as though it'll be pretty good; just got the concert schedule and it's full: Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings roughly from 8-midnight. Not clear how the panels will work out. IIRC Alison Stern {sometimes? usually?) runs filk at LOSCON, so she presumably has her own ideas about what should be going on.

Actually, you didn't really touch your makescript that I know of, nor your recording studio since Consonance, so I wonder how you expect to get the demo re-done. If so, I want a copy of this version too, prefferably that has World Inside The Crystal with the flute track.....

And another thing, Alison Stern does not usually run the filk track @ LosCon. That's usually Nick Smith, who always requests that flower_cat run the filk lounge because she's so damned good at it.

I sit corrected on Alison. Dumb bear. OK, that explains some things.

As for the Makefile, you're right -- haven't done anything since Consonance. I have been working on the website, in odd moments.
