I just realised this morning: 6/6/6 (6 June 2006) is a year from yesterday. I'm gonna throw a party I think.

I noticed that, too. It falls on a Tuesday, which isn't the best day for a party, but there ought to be some kind of observance.

Oh: For the record: I don't care what hardware OSX runs on. It's Unix, well-packaged, running on a good microkernel. (I suspect you knew that :) )

I'd give my mother a Mac if I could afford it, and I've never said that about any computer. It comes the closest to passing the "grandma test" I've ever seen.

I knew that. Recent benchmarks show that MySQL runs much slower under Darwin than it does under Linux on the same hardware; something about the way they handle threads.

OSX may be Unix, but it's far enough from the variants I'm used to be seriously annoying.
