Father's Day update

Seems they're handing out special Father's Day posters at the theatre today -- picture of Darth Vader with the caption: "WHO'S YOUR DADDY?" Took the kids out to lunch at Burger Thing (their pick) and somehow acquired the title "Darth Ursus" (it was either that or "Darth Fractal"). The chaoswolf appears to be my apprentice, but neither of them appears to be willing to learn the ways of the Source and become a hacker like their father. Oh well.

You aren't a /true/ hacker until you can describe exactly how the permissions of individual players differ between the commandline, MPI, blessed MPI, mucker 1, mucker 2, mucker 3, and Wizard.

(Don't worry. I can't either. And I'm one of the principal coders on the damned thing.)

That must be some game program or other. I'm not a gamer. The last game program I hacked on was the two-sun variant of Spacewar on SAIL's PDP-10, about 35 years ago.

It's a MUCK (i.e., social MUD) software. Which makes it yes, a game software, but it's more of a recreational software than a game.

and it's called Fuzzball for a reason: the code is long, stringy, and full of holes.

OK; I'm familiar with the concept of MUDs, etc. but haven't actually used one. I already have too many ways to wastespend my time.
