Well, here it is not even 4pm and I'm home from work -- found myself dozing off and fuzzy-headed enough that even if I managed to stay awake I wasn't likely to get much done. I probably ought to sleep til dinnertime.

The little package I ordered from ituner.com yesterday arrived this morning; the main items are a silent 100W mini-ITX power supply and its 12v power brick. The goal is a completely fanless computer for recording. 9:45pm: It works, but as I expected most of the noise is coming from the CPU fan. Getting rid of that will take more work.

My wife and younger (13) daughter now wear the same dress size. Scary. Not too scary, since my older daughter, [livejournal.com profile] chaoswolf, has been stealing my clothes for years.

I had an entertaining moment growing up when I was separating out clothes I had outgrown and my mother said, “Those fit me!” and made off with them.

The only clothing item I ever inherited from a male in my family was a belt from my brother. My father's shoulders were way broader than mine, so nothing of his ever fit me. Mom has given me some clothes that no longer fit her, but she wouldn't let me have her blue suede shoes (they were loafers; I swear she never wore them!).

Oddly enough, the best hand-me-downs I ever got were from my paternal grandmother when she moved to Florida. I got some really nifty blazers and skirts that fit me Just Right. Turns out I'm built more like her than like my mother.

Not my fault that you have some cool shirts, Dad. Besides, you gave me those tux pants when they didn't fit you.

*smirk* Haha. I'm assuming you want your Penguin Party shirt back...it should still be in the pile in the sewing room.

I did a crash and burn on Friday, myself. Went home at noon with a nasty headache, laid down, and didn't wake up until about 4 pm.
