Dumb bear.
2005-06-29 11:12 pmWhile pulling my USB hard drive off the shelf one-handed (because I had a plate of fried rice in the other hand), I managed to snag another drive (there's a stack of them, mostly small) with the power cord and knock it onto the floor. Turned out to be the spare 120GB drive. Oops. Needless to say, it doesn't seem to work anymore. Sounds like it spins up, but it's not recognized.
Luckily there was nothing useful on it -- I had just moved everything to a quieter, 40GB drive on the machine that's going to end up as my fanless recording box. And it had a lot of time on it; would probably have started giving me trouble in a year or so. I think Fry's has 'em for $69 today and tomorrow...
