When testing the operation of a fileserver under a new, tricky router setup operating on the alternate gateway, it does not help at all if said fileserver is still using the old gateway as its default. Also watch out for typos in the test machine's IP address -- 192.169.0.xx isn't what you think it is.

I think the new gateway is basically working now, but I'm darned if I'm going to do the swap on a Wednesday night. And I still need to test SMTP.
