Hurricane warning

If you live on the Louisiana coast, and especially in the part of New Orleans that is below sea level, read this advisory. Then shut down your computer, gather up whatever you value most, and get the hell out!.

Please note the first paragraph (emphasis mine)

A HURRICANE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTH CENTRAL GULF COAST FROM MORGAN CITY LOUISIANA EASTWARD TO THE ALABAMA/FLORIDA BORDER...INCLUDING THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS AND LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN. PREPARATIONS TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY SHOULD BE RUSHED TO COMPLETION.

edit I see that evacutation has already been ordered, so if you're still reading this you either aren't in the affected area, or haven't been paying attention. In the latter case, good luck. You'll need it.

For what it's worth, that last sentence is standard as a storm approaches landfall.
