Different histories, different mental images: I map "HCI" to "Handgun Control, Inc." rather than "Human-Computer Interface". It took me several sentences to figure out what the heck was going on!

The comments calling the guy on how out-of-date his complaints are amuse me.

Yes, some of his points are just due to limited experience with MacOS X and Gnome. Others, like 2 (designing for beginners) are dead on.

I especially appreciated the comment that went "let me find your knife for you" followed by a one-line shell command -- a lot of problems with GUIs go away once you learn how to use the keyboard properly (as many of the comments pointed out).
