1. coffee:
   Death before dishonor, but nothing before coffee!
2. cordwainer smith:
   My favorite SF writer. My nom-de-net is partly in reference to the "middle-sized bear" in his story, Mark Elf.
3. domain name addiction:
   See the LJ community domain_junkies, which I founded.
4. filk music:
   The indigenous folk music of the science fiction and fantasy fan community. (Ask any four filkers and you'll get at least seven definitions.) I write it, and perform at the occasional SF convention.
5. folk music:
   The "main stream" to which filk is a tributary. I started out listening to the likes of the Kingston Trio, Pete Seeger, and Joan Baez during the Great Folk Music Scare in the middle of the last century. Learned to play guitar during high school.
6. home recording:
   Along the lines of the previous two, I've been working (on and off) on an album. Sample tracks, rough cuts really, can be found on my website.
7. linux audio:
   Do we detect a trend here? Linux is my OS of choice, so that's what I use for recording and editing. I recommend DeMuDi, the Debian Music Distribution.
8. science fiction:
   Well, yeah. My father went to grad school with Isaac Asimov.
9. web:
   I've been using the web, and writing web pages, since the IMG tag was the latest new thing.
10. web publishing:
    See above.
