The Rules:

The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Five Weird Things About Yourself" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their five queer/weird habits or traits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and list their names.

I've been tagged by [livejournal.com profile] cflute, so here goes:

  1. I'm left-handed, but use some tools right-handedly, including scissors and guitar. I wield a knife with my right hand at the dining table (with the fork in my left hand, European style), but with my left hand when I'm doing food preparation (bread, vegies, meat, etc.). Saws, drills, screwdrivers, and so on are ambidextrous; I use them in whichever hand is more convenient.
  2. I hate being embarassed, and hate seeing other people (not including politicians) put in embarassing situations. I find a lot of humor more painful than funny, and I have been known to walk out of a movie while the rest of the audience was roaring with laughter.
  3. I have a fissured tongue. (I was originally told by my dentist that it was a "geographic tongue", but on researching the link that appears to be a totally different condition.) It's always been like that, it doesn't hurt, and it's handy for freaking out dental technicians.
  4. I am so far outside the normal range of user interface preferences that some coworkers have probably wondered what species I belong to. I'm almost incapable of figuring out what an icon is supposed to mean, have no patience for animated eye candy, and use a 3-button trackball on Linux. I usually prefer reading on the screen to reading on paper.
  5. I save the plastic-coated-metal twist ties from packaging, and other kinds of ties (like the ones that used to come with garbage bags), and use them to organize cables and for the occasional repair job.

I don't normally like to tag people, so anyone who wants to can feel free to propagate this, with or without the tagging at the end.
