Things to do
2005-12-30 10:42 amI haven't been getting a whole lot done this week, apart from puttering around the house attempting to clean things up a little ahead of Saturday's party. I did get to the Container Store yesterday to get parts for the new kitchen island and shelves in the front bathroom (taking advantage of their 30%-off Elfa sale). But I somehow ended up with the wrong side-rails for the island (one of their basket-drawer towers, with a butcher-block top). So that brings us to the first to-do item.
- done Go back to the Container Store to exchange the 10-slot rails for 7-slot.
- done Assemble the kitchen island; transfer stuff from the old island.
- done Decide whether to disassemble the old island or use it in the bedroom.
(It's a 19" rack, so it would help organize the recording stuff, except
that it's probably too big for the available space.) [But as it turns out,
misdev has a use for it.]
- done Install the new shelves in the front bathroom. (The existing shelf on that wall is too long, so it interferes with the shower curtain.) [The rail is about a foot too high, so the bottom shelf isn't as low as it should be. That might actually be a feature if it keeps tall people from hitting their heads on it. It's missing a molly bolt on the far right because I thought there was a stud there. Grump. Fortunately the load on the shelves is light. I can remount them later if necessary.]
- done Get the charity contributions into the mail by Saturday morning.
The next batch are a bit speculative...
- Continue getting the office back together.
- Try (once again) to install the new vanity faucets in the front bathroom, and the new faucets in the kitchen. Really needs somebody with longer arms, but I think I can at least do a partial install in the kitchen.
- Do some recording. I need to put together some gift CDs, and really ought to have decent tracks for "Demon Lover", "Guilty Pleasures", "Ship of Stone" and "The Mary Ellen Carter".
- Get some more work done on the Y.D's science project (talking compass).
I have all the hardware, but
not (yet) the cables to hook it up with.
Monday's a holiday, but Saturday's almost completely eaten up by the party (If you're reading this, you're invited). Unfortunately I've been a little under the weather most of the last two weeks -- I didn't really notice how little energy I had until I got it back.
