Linux for newbies

Halfway
decent article on TechRepublic, mentioned recently on linux. The title is
"10 things you should know about every Linux installation", but it's
really more like "What's cool and different about Linux compared to
Windows". Despite a few minor inaccuracies (example: "less than half the
age of Microsoft Windows" -- Windows 1.0 came out in 1985, and 3.1 in
1991, about the same time as the first Linux kernel) it's a good
introduction for someone who knows Windows and is wondering whether to
take the plunge.
