I spent most of the morning at home waiting for the painter to arrive, and the rest of the day waiting for him to leave (he's still here). He's painting in the back bathroom, which has no window -- the only ventilation is a fan. So no recording. (Could have done some this morning if I hadn't been expecting him to arrive any moment, but...)
So instead I've been puttering, which has its own rewards. Installed the
top shelf in the upstairs hall computer TV nook, put in the
bottom brace (once I tracked down the hardware, which of course was right
where I'd put it and neatly labeled); washed the dishes, and installed two
power strips in the office. One's an wide 8-outlet strip, mainly for
chargers, the other's a narrow 6-outlet strip which I tucked out of the
way and plugged into the UPS. Really cuts down on the cable clutter.
Let's see; what else... Installed a heftier support plate for one of the removable corner desk pieces, did some cleanup in the front bathroom, tried (without much success) to catch up on my reading, installed a 200GB drive in my new USB enclosure, emptied out a file crate that I'd tossed stuff into ahead of the repiping job last fall...
Quite a bit of work, in other words, with very little to show for it. Still, it had to be done sometime.
