That's better

Spent most of the day struggling with Demon Lover. This take (take 6) may have done it, modulo my scratch vocals. It's at least something I wouldn't be too ashamed to put on a demo. I'm a little shaky on pitch (in both parts), I have trouble with my lowest note, and the guitar could be better. But I realized yesterday or the day before that I'd misremembered the last line of the low part (my part). Also realized that I'd been playing a C where I really needed an Am. (Goes fine with the low part, and clashes horribly with the high part.) There's a good reason why it took me a week with a sequencer to work it out in the first place.
Also recycled some old electronics, mostly nine or ten assorted VCRs, DVD and CD players, and one half-dead receiver. I swear those things breed in dark corners -- I found three more afterwards. Also tossed in a couple of dead UPSs and a long-obsolete Apple laserwriter. unwaste.com was having a free e-waste recycling day at our local high school. There's another in nearby Santa Clara next month; we're going to need it.

Date: 2006-02-27 08:48 pm (UTC)Last night I was playing along with the March 2005 edition of the scratch disk, and found my way into some nifty new musical riffs for World Inside the Crystal. Tonight I'll get to see if I can reproduce them.
Definitely looking forward to lots of music-making, in just a few more days!
