1. What was the first band you saw in concert?
The first concert I have a distinct memory of was Pete Seeger, but he's not a band. I was 12. There was a series of folk concerts that my parents took me to around then; the Kingston Trio was probably the first of those.
2. Who is your favorite artist/band now?
Hmm, hard to say. Probably Eric Bogle.
3. What's your favorite song?
Ship of Stone by Don Simpson, followed closely by Desolation Row by Bob Dylan and The Band Played Waltzing Matilda by Eric Bogle.
4. If you could play any instrument, what would it be?
I already play guitar pretty well, and have played piano and flute in the past. I'd like to get back to those, if possible. For sheer coolness you can't beat the Ukranian bandura, but I don't want to put in the time I know it would require.
5. If you could meet any musical icon (past or present), who would it be and why?
Well, I'd love to have met whoever wrote The House Carpenter. Among contemporary songwriters, I'd really like to spend some time with Janis Ian.
