Saturday update: doing pretty well...

Went out for a walk this morning and walked for an hour without pain. That's especially good considering that for the last two days I've been off Naproxen and haven't worn my ankle brace. I'm a little sore now, but not near the sprain -- I suspect it's just stuff that hasn't been properly exercised for the last month.

After a light lunch (half a block of tofu with soy sauce and chili oil; maybe a little too light) I went out and hit some surplus joints, which is something I haven't done in a month or two. Got some standoffs (needed for the peculiar way I build computer cases for mini-ITX boards) and a 66 block (old-style Telco terminal block -- if you have to ask, you don't need one) at Weird Stuff. Also picked up an Oster 6878 blender/food processor from Macy's, which had them on sale this weekend. Ogled the luggage, which is temptingly adjacent to the kitchen gadgets, but didn't buy anything.

I know about 66 blocks, got one under my house. When we bought our vintage 1947 house, a friend and I ran all new phone lines through out the house. Every room has a double jack with a four pair line going back to the block. The lines are not wired in series. (Some day I have to get a punch down tool.)
