25 more minutes of excavating in the receipt box has definitely made a noticable dent; the box now looks merely "full" rather than "overstuffed". The office is still a disaster area, of course. And unlike previous years I'm making an effort to unfold folded-up full-page receipts, which makes the folders thinner. So there's a chance it may actually fit in the box this year.

The office and garage are still disasters, of course.

Confucious say, longest journey start with single step.

We're going to spend most of the day decluttering the kitchen and living room from all the post-move detritus... whee. It'll be worth it, though, to have company over and not have to apologise...

[livejournal.com profile] cflute checked, and the laws have changed. The first $250k of cap gains from sale of primary residence is, currently, tax-free (unless you know a CPA that says otherwise).

Wow. That *is* a long time.

And, yeah, given what the housing market did during the dot-com craze and then again recently, anything that's not a total dump down there is easily seven figures.... so, yeah, I have to agree with you in hoping that your next move is posthumous... although would much prefer it if it was none too soon.
