I'm not kidding! LumiGram.com has a "contact us for price" notice on the item pictured, but the handbags and hair ornaments seem real (and expensive) enough.

I went digging through their site several months back.

Very cool and very expensive.

However...

It turns out to be fiber optic fibers woven through reactive dyed regular fabric. The dark bands that all their items have is a battery and LED holder with the LEDs shinning up through the fiber optics.

Yeah -- I was looking into the raw material one or two years ago. At that time, they wanted $500 for a starter kit [small quantity of fabric & power supply], and I couldn't quite see that. I'll have to look into it again...
