Top 12 Guns for Geeks and Gadget Goons - Gizmodo
Seriously, the idea of everyone being armed is more fearsome than any of these weapons, but then in a specific situation where one lunatic is about to kill a lot of innocent people, we're just sayin', would you rather have a gun, or not?(Not that I'm advocating violence or anything like that, you understand, but I know there are people on my flist who would appreciate this article.)

Date: 2007-02-16 08:22 pm (UTC)None of my real faves are on there... heck, they didn't even put
combat Tupperwarea Glock in there... but then, I'm old skool when it comes to powder-firing weaponry. Single-action, Browning-style pistols (something along the lines of a 1911 Series 80, or various improvements on said), backed by a J-frame-size (snubbie) .357 revolver... nothing too fancy, whiz-bang, or overkill.Although, I have to chuckle on re-reading. Given my druthers for old skool, if it's spray and pray you want, nothing beats an old Tommy gun, kept well cleaned so it won't jam. You can spray niner mike-mike all over the place with an Uzi, but if you want it not to sue you, hit it with the Tommy.
Grippping hand, a proper shotgun will properly take *any* game on this continent. Just depends on the load you use. And make mine a pump; those gas operated contraptions are too finicky about ammo, and hard to clean.
