Evening at home

Spent most of yesterday evening playing Scrabble with the
flower_cat and our 11-year-old daughter Emmy. We each won a game; I helped Emmy a fair amount, but she found a huge one on her own: ZAX (across, with both the Z and X on double letter squares, and OX down.
Guess we didn't really have to invoke an alternate rule and give her 50 points for going out first on that first game. Sure, it pulled her score out of the basement and into first place. But it also pulled
flower_cat out of last place on the last game, which Emmy would have won otherwise. So it evens out. (Wouldn't have affected the rankings on the middle game; I went out first and was already 50 points ahead.)
