Postal rates going up

Just a reminder, now that filkertom has jogged my memory, that postal rates are going up as of today. Actually it's more complicated than that: the base first class rate is going up (to $0.41), but the rate for additional weight is going down, and there's an additional charge for additional thickness that's going to bite people who mail CDs, for example. It looks like media mail and priority mail rates are still based on weight under some limiting size.

Not surprisingly, the actual rate tables are slashdotted.

I mail a bunch of books (paperbackswap.com rocks); if it's under 6oz, it's cheaper to send it first-class parcel rate ($1.98 for 6oz; less for less). If it's over 6oz, the first pound of media mail will run you $2.13.
