mdlbear: "Sometimes it's better to light a flamethrower than to curse the darkness" - Terry Pratchett (flamethrower)

Even as I type, my two Linux workstations (Trantor and Harmony) are burning copies of About Bleeding Time. I blew [livejournal.com profile] selkit's mind by pointing out that both copies of k3b were running on the same display. They're in the same relative positions as the computers, of course, each with its own terminal window underneath -- mainly because the nodename is in the titlebar.

I'm getting about 6 disks/hour on each machine, so 12/hour total. I've also punched out the jewel-case inserts, of which I have 78. That may be enough for the con.

Overall I'm not as pleased with the Plextor drive as I am with the Samsung -- the Plextor occasionally drops down to 97% of its buffer full when burning at 8x, and it seems to have serious problems going any faster than that. The Samsung stays 100% full and actually had no problems burning a test disk at 16x.

The problems remaining before Baycon are the graphics -- faked-up album artwork for CC&S and posters for the pre-release party -- and, more importantly, the customer database. It's a mess -- I've been neglecting it. And it turns out that my little data-entry CGI script has been throwing some information on the floor -- fortunately it's on the paper forms. And the info from PayPal is split between a spreadsheet with too many irrelevant columns, and the detail pages that have the "notes" field on them. So I have some Perl hacking to do if I want to have something I can use to keep track of hand deliveries and serial numbers at the con.

Which starts on Friday. (Urk!!)

Hang in there. You know you can always draft [livejournal.com profile] cflute if you need an extra pair of eyeballs while data mining... :)

Of course, she might draft you for a thing or two, too. :)

Please make sure to pull my requested number from the going to con pile...

2A. :)

I know requested that number in January when I pre-ordered. (If its been changed to an interfilk item, let me know and I will grab a different number.)

I figured that... Considering I grabbed a popular number in fandom (if switched to base 10.), I figured it would be a possible interfilk item.
