A very minor milestone

dmz is my web server/firewall machine. A year of uptime isn't unusual for Linux, of course. But it's getting to be time for an upgrade from RedHat 6.2 to Debian stable, and I also want to move it to newer hardware.

You must have some damn stable power source :)

The main reason my boxen never make it very far on the uptime front is that our power here sucks, and there's no way I could afford a twelve-hour UPS to feed it with.

(We've lost power for that long at a time more than once...)

Moderately stable

The UPS on that machine will keep it and our dialout server up for 15 minutes or so; we haven't had any long power glitches in the last year or so. In fact, I don't think we've had any recently.

During the power 'crisis', of course, it was different.
