Fireworks

Just spent a pleasant half-hour or so watching the few fireworks we can see from our front porch. The neighborhood is mostly one-story houses with a few tall trees, but the left side of the porch and the driveway get a pretty good view of the top half of San Jose's show.

I've always loved fireworks, though it's been several years since we went out of our way to watch them.

Nice to hear someone saying they like fireworks.

Sauk Centre, MN, doesn't do fireworks for Independence Day, although the race track south of town can be counted on for intermittent displays.

This town saves its big show for Sinclair Lewis Days, which will be coming up later this summer.

Part of my family, at least, and I will probably watch the fireworks from an attic window. We're a mile or so away from the action, but there's a reasonably clear line of sight, and the mosquitoes can't reach us inside. Usually.
