Never did get the hang of Thursdays
2007-08-16 10:35 amJust about to pull out of the driveway on our way to ConChord when it became apparent that the battery was stone cold dead. Luckily it happened before the start of the trip rather than somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
AAA battery service guys have battery and alternator testers these days. Alternator appears to be fine; battery's hosed. He has a replacement battery, and is installing it now.
Our Ford dealer (called while AAA was on the way) couldn't see the car until Monday, and I couldn't reach their rental department. So we win: a new battery is a hell of a lot cheaper than a weekend, 800-mile rental.
I'm gonna comp him an album.

Date: 2007-08-16 06:12 pm (UTC)I'm heading for the hotel on Friday pm, hope to see you happy and rested! Maybe we can do dinner. I'm not staying over, I live under 15 minutes away, I'm not on committee so I'm saving my buck$ for the dealer's room instead. Heh.

Date: 2007-08-17 12:40 pm (UTC)About Thursdays: It does seems to be in a sort of limbo.
Particularly for cubicle-dwellers:
Monday is a dreary return to another five-day period of immersion in the psychological equivalent of cold oatmeal.
Tuesday is the day when the mind grudgingly accepts cold oatmeal as 'normal.'
Wednesday afternoon is the milestone, when the porridge trek is half-over.
Thursday is just 'there.'
Friday is the day when sweet release is, at last, in sight.
I'm glad I don't work in a cubicle.

Date: 2007-08-17 02:01 pm (UTC)So am I -- at my current job I have an office with an actual door. It's good, except that one can still hear voices from the office next door occasionally.
