Ticket to ride
2007-09-21 10:58 pmHave my airplane ticket for OVFF - it's a one-stop on American, having decided I didn't want to take my chances with USAir. Gets me in at 9pm on Thursday the 25th, but I'll have enough time in Dallas to grab some dinner. Paid for with Wells Fargo bonus points.
Managed to squeeze in a 2-mile walk at lunchtime. I'm still feeling a little dubious about my health, and didn't want to push it. I'll do my walking in the neighborhood over the weekend, thanks.
Some fascinating things coming up at work, which of course I can't talk about yet.
The
flower_cat noticed "endless shrimp" on Red Lobster's menu
this week -- or was it this month? Anyway, we went, though neither she
nor the Younger Daughter actually called for refills. So RL wins this
round. (I just had grilled snapper, since I can only get fish at
restaurants these days, and the
chaoswolf had
shrimp-and-lobster linguini.

Date: 2007-09-22 03:12 pm (UTC)One of our favorite things to do was to go to this little sports bar back in the suburbs of Atlanta... I would get prime rib and crab legs, and she would get an entire pound of peel'n'eat shrimp and a salad, and that would be dinner.
Dead easy dinner:
Get some uncooked frozen shrimp, and a big pot, a big bowl, and some ice. Also whatever veggies you want. Put big pot on your biggest burner and bring to a boil. Make veggies while the water heats (it'll take a while). When the water starts really grumbling at you, crack about a trayful of ice into the big bowl, and fill with water. When the water actually gets to a boil, drop your shrimp in, and wait three minutes. You'll see the tails turn red. Fish'em out with a big slotted spoon or skimmer, and drop'em in the ice water to keep them from overcooking. Serve'em up.
ER4 is an Embraer RJ-145 regional jet. All the benefits of a commuter bird (more runs at the snackage, less time to board, every seat is either a window or an aisle, generally better service), all the speed of a big jet (MMO is Mach .78). The cabin is only six feet high, and the windows are set low, but that won't bother us short guys. Not something
