Walkies

After lunch the weather finally cleared; the sky was still dark with clouds, but I got my walk. I went around the Rose Garden -- no sense pushing my luck; there are usually enough people passing by that somebody would have noticed if I got into trouble. There was a wedding party there with no guests -- I imagine it was a photo shoot -- and a couple of new blossoms on the Royal Amethyst.

My weight continues to hover within a pound or two of 190. Grumble. Need more walkies and less food, I suppose. I was pleased to see that my blood pressure was down to a healthy level on Thursday; since I haven't changed either my meds or my diet I can only assume it's because I haven't taken any stimulant-based decongestants for the last couple of days.

Yay walkies! I got mine in wandering around Lowes looking for stuff to patch cflute's shower... and I've probably still got a couple hours' worth of work to do up there prepping...

It's hard to get real exercise walking around a store, or even a mall if it's crowded. Walking slowly is almost as bad as standing still.

I did yoga today, but I'll do a walkie tomorrow. Go you! It sounds like a beautiful place to walk. :-)

It's about a three mile walk if I go around the garden twice; it is beautiful. I prefer Los Gatos Creek when I have the time, but I have to drive a couple of miles to get there.

I'm particularly fond of rivers and ponds; there's a park near work with an artificial pond that I can walk around at lunchtime.

I just walk around my neighborhood, because it has sidewalks, and I don't have to drive anywhere. But, changing venues occasionally is something to consider!

The Creek has a paved path, as does the pond by work. Driving to the Creek is a little annoying, but I usually combine it with either errands (it's close to the post office) or some recreational shopping (it's on the way to Fry's, Home Depot, REI, Guitar Showcase, and other dangerous places).
