[livejournal.com profile] thatcrazycajun reminds us that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

My Mom is 87 years old; she had her double mastectomy roughly half a century ago. My Sister-in-Law is fighting it now. My Mother-in-Law died of it, among other things. (Her smoking didn't help, either. Don't do that.) Don't push your luck: get your mammogram. Give generously. Race for the cure if that's your bag. Don't give up.

Got my mamms grammed last month. Now have scientific proof that my boobage is PERFECT.

My mother had mastectomies on my 30th and 40th birthdays exactly. I have informed her that she is not allowed to do this again on my 50th and it looks like she will obey this directive. ;-)

got my mamms grammed a couple of weeks ago, and they are, if not certified perfect, at least certified normal.

Plus a mammogram, while weird feeling, doesn't actually hurt, in case anyone was wondering. Ask if you can see it afterwards--it looks cool.
