that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
My Mom is 87 years old; she had her double mastectomy roughly half a century ago. My Sister-in-Law is fighting it now. My Mother-in-Law died of it, among other things. (Her smoking didn't help, either. Don't do that.) Don't push your luck: get your mammogram. Give generously. Race for the cure if that's your bag. Don't give up.

Date: 2007-10-19 05:07 am (UTC)My mother had mastectomies on my 30th and 40th birthdays exactly. I have informed her that she is not allowed to do this again on my 50th and it looks like she will obey this directive. ;-)
