Merriam-Webster's Word of '07: 'W00t'
Expect cheers among hardcore online game enthusiasts when they learn Merriam-Webster's Word of the Year. Or, more accurately, expect them to "w00t."

When a dictionary company lets an online poll pick its word of the year, it's no surprise the result is silly.

On the other hand, it brings l33t speak to the view of the masses which, given a license plate I saw, would be a *good* think. (Sadly, I don't remember what the license plate said; I just remember suddenly choking and thinking that no one at the bureau where they review vanity plate requests for decency knew l33t speak.
