Got the waiting-for-XO blues

Got email from OLPC this morning saying my XO won't be here for Christmas -- which I'd already suspected. Supposed to be arriving by Jan. 15, but we'll see.

Meanwhile, here are a couple of comparison articles: XO vs. Kindle on O'Reilly, and XO vs. Eee on sdorn.

Of course, what I really want is the XO's hardware in the Eee's case, with an IBM laptop keyboard. Hmm - I can buy one of those...

Mine has arrived early; there was a shipping glitch which caused it to jump the queue. I wasn't expecting it till January. Will be posting some pics and experiences - I'm planning to take it to NZ in Feb. Chris is interested and has suggested that my nephew Cody would love one of these. Maybe if they extend the G1G1 program again.

Now to finishing the game I'm writing and porting it to Sugar...

And we were so eager, we forgot to check the local time (5:30 AM, Saturday) before we phoned to ask the neighbor to make sure it wasn't stolen from the doorstep.

We got our 2 on Thursday. Not as intuitive as I'd like but fun.
