the good

We got our new oven yesterday. It's a Maytag, and although it's listed as a 24", the front panel is actually more like 26". It's also a little taller, so I'm going to have to do some surgery on the doors of the over-the-oven cabinet. Time to haul out the tablesaw, and it looks like an excuse to get a couple more pipe clamps. Whee!

the bad

I went in for lab work this morning (in preparation for a physical a week from next Wednesday); this required a 12-hour fast. Hence, no coffee this morning. I have since treated myself to a double café mocha and an egg-bacon-cheese sandwitch, but I still have a ferocious headache. And I haven't had what [livejournal.com profile] flower_cat calls my "pill salad" yet.

the ugly

After bleeding for the lab, I went over to the pharmacy to renew my prescription for Beconase, which is what I take for post-nasal drip. Not only is it no longer available, but there are apparently no powder-plus-propellant nasal inhalers available anymore. None. This is going to be bad -- the last time I tried one of the water-based ones I had the choice of losing it all out my nostrils, or tilting my head back and having it go down the back of my throat, and being lucky to stop coughing before I throw up.

Water-based spray

I find one either has to lie down and
tilt head way back and/or bend way
forward as if touching toes and pointing
back of head as far down as possible.
A big sniff in during spray stage helps.
Head needs to bend down during spray.
Need to tilt/bend for more than a few seconds and then wait 10 minutes (as
said by pharmacist) and redo.
The whole routine didn't occur perfectly
the first time (or 20.)
Bruce just suggested hanging upside down
after the squirt stage like he does.
He doesn't have the patience for the
official routine.
