I can do little better than rephrase snobahr's post pointing at a librarian's thoughtful, calm, and well-reasoned response to a patron's request to remove a book from their children's section. Looks like a particularly nice children's book on the subject of same-sex marriages and uncle-niece relationships, too.

I actually saw the patron's letter, printed in the local newspaper. I'm glad there was such an intelligent response and hope it gets widely enough spread to make a difference.

Enjoyed. Thanks. Although I twitched at a typo in his letter, and I grudgingly gave a point to one of the people who was arguing with him in his comments.
