Thank you, Mr. President

I don't need protection from gay marriage or pornography, but thanks anyway. Here's my list of things I want protection from:
- Religious fundamentalist terrorist organizations: you can start with the ones that advocate killing doctors who perform abortions, and the ones whose spokespeople go around saying "my god is bigger than their god".
- State-sponsored terrorism, starting with the country that trained Osama bin Laden and sent arms to Saddam during the Iran-Iraq war, that still has the world's largest supply of weapons of mass destruction, and that refuses to sign a treaty to ban land mines.
- People who want to destroy the Constitution of the United States, especially the parts about freedom of speech, freedom of religion, equal protection under the law, and freedom from unreasonable search and seizure.
- The PATRIOT Act.
- Airport so-called "security" that doesn't actually provide any protection and exists only to allow politicians to claim that they're protecting us.
- Monopolies like Microsoft, the MPAA, the RIAA, and the idiot politicians and regulators who allow them to write their own laws.
- The DMCA, the Mickey Mouse Perpetual Protection Act, and other copyright laws that go far beyond reason to protect a handful of monopolies at the expense of the public good and the public domain.
- Software patents.
- Politicians who cut taxes in times of surplus, and then refuse to raise them back when money is short.
- A health care system run purely for profit, governed (if you can call it that) by laws written by and for the benefit of insurance companies and drug companies.
- Deregulation.
- Global warming.
- Bad drivers, especially the ones under the influence of cell phones.
- Spamers.
