It helps to actually put the freshly-ground coffee into the coffeemaker before you run it. It says something about my current mood shift that the first thing I did on discovering this was to start mentally composing this post rather than cursing at my stupidity.

Well, I'm glad to here the mood shift has lasted this long. Have you thought about how long it will have to last for it to be considering effectively permanent?

Here = hear. I guess that proves that spell check does not remove the need for proof reading.

Point taken. What I really meant, however, was something more like "How long would this have to last before statements like 'it's probably temporary, but I'll take it' stop?" For me at least, I doubt I could enjoy this sort of thing fully if I was worrying about how long it would last, and since you probably can't change how long it will last (at least in a predictable way), it's not even particularly productive worrying.

In short, my advice is to maximize your enjoyment of it for however long it lasts. Of course, you seem to be heading in that direction anyway, so that might very well have not been necessary.

It seems I have been out-profounded.

I'll stop trying to make a point that was poorly thought out from the beginning.

Think of how relieved everyone else is to know that they aren't the only ones who do that. With me, it's usually forgetting to put the teabags in the teapot. Then three minutes later I pour out clear water and go "Oops!"

A lot better than the morning when Dan made coffee, and we got a double dose of coffee in the maker and double water in the reservoir. Let's just say it was messy. Sometimes, you need coffee before making morning coffee!

Yes, there is such a thing in my experience of "needing coffee to make coffee" since such a thing has been done under my roof too! :D

At least a coffee maker without a full-time servant.
