There was a gorgeous, full rainbow painted across the sky ahead of me as I drove to the hospital to see Colleen, with hints of a secondary bow directly ahead. I took it as a sign of hope.
I found her smiling, finishing off a plate of eggs and sausage, and much more comfortable with the epidural catheter (literally) off her back.
It made me happier than I've been in a long time.
I sang "Ferret Went A'Courtn'" at her request. The rainbow was still there as I drove to work.
The book I've been looking for all weekend turned up on my desk.
Happy Bear.

Date: 2009-03-02 08:55 pm (UTC)Probably not the best place to ask (I hope you don't mind), but:
I'm trying to do a daily log, similar to what you publish under "done" tag. I remember you mentioned that you use a script to maintain it? Did you publish it somewhere so I can copy it?
Thanks :)

Date: 2009-03-02 10:19 pm (UTC)What I do is simply maintain a text file called "to.do" in exactly the form you see in the "done" posts, except that scheduled items have "o" in place of "*".
Every morning I collect all the previous day's "*" (done) "&" (added after completion), and "~" (dropped) items, move them to the end of the file, and copy them to an
lj-compose
buffer. That's the part that would be easy to automate. Then Iadd the text commentary and post it.
Every January I take all the previous year's "done" items and move them to a to.done file. I may have to start doing that monthly now.
