Didn't seem like a very productive day, on the whole, but on my evening visit to Colleen we just held one another an nuzzled for ten minutes or so. That was nice. I think I actually noticed feeling loved, loving, and optimistic.

Later in the evening I attempted to make some online purchases for the Y.D. (including getting her signed up for the SAT), transfer some files, and be sociable both in person and on IM. It didn't work very well; I was snappish and stressed. If something needs doing I need to crawl into the office and do it rather than trying to divide my attention. Better to be unsociable than unpleasant.

A couple of bill payments got procrastinated from yesterday, and paid just minutes before the 11pm deadline for transfers. I think that much the same thing is at work here as with phone calls: paying bills or working on taxes forces me to think about my finances, which are dire and depressing.

I either did something very bad to my right hand, or... something. It hurts when I press on the palm at the base of the fingers. Hot water seems to help, as do naproxin and asprin, but it's worrisome.

I maintain that spending time with Colleen is Job #1 and you are working hard at it. Yay you.

Y.D. is taking the SAT? Ooog, way to make the rest of us feel old too. We're not getting older, the kids are just getting taller, yeah that's the ticket.

Here's some SAT advice for the Y.D., from someone who has recently taken it and done excellently: take it multiple times if necessary. The extra cost < the money a high score can save, and for me at least re-taking it definitely brought my scores up. On my third and final try I actually scored 800 on the math and reading sections.

You are good to me, mentioning paying bills. Thanks for the reminder.
