It is a web based collaboration tool that addresses the common coordination problems during a disaster from finding missing people, managing aid, managing volunteers, tracking camps effectively between Government groups, the civil society (NGOs) and the victims themselves.(From Groklaw.)
Sahana was developed in Sri Lanka (that's where
.lk is, in case you were wondering) in response to the tsunami of 2004, and was deployed after just two weeks of development. If you need it, and I damned well hope you never do, you can have it up and running on Linux or Windows in half an hour or so.
