Superbowl Sunday
2006-02-05 03:49 pm Ah, yes: Superbowl Sunday, just the day to drive up to San Francisco and
go to a museum. Hardly any traffic on I280, though the museum was
probably about the same -- I don't think there's too much overlap between
football fans and art lovers. The flower_cat and I went to
the newly-rebuilt de
Young Museum in Golden
Gate Park. Very nice -- of course, I'm both a museum slut and an
architecture slut, so I was a happy bear. Minor confusion with the
recently-rearranged and currently-under-construction streets. Got a
family membership, on the grounds that it will pay for itself in only
another two trips. One more if we can actually persuade the
family to come along.
We took a side trip to the Japanese Tea Garden,
a long-time favorite spot, and had jasmine tea and cookies. Last time we
were there we had chaoswolf in a stroller, about three years
old. For some reason the kids don't like most museums, though the Wolfie
seems to be getting over it. We've decided to go to a museum at least
once a month, kids or no kids.
We left about 9:15. Got home at 3:00 and the kids were just coming downstairs. We know what their favorite weekend activity is (at least if there isn't a con to go to).
