A better week than I was expecting? N, G, and m are at OVFF, and I'm left here with the cats (modulo the housekeeper on Saturday mornings, and j on the weekends), but it's been magageable, and not too lonely. (I'm usually somewhat isolated down here on the ground floor anyway.) The main extra work was the two extra litter boxen, and feeding Brooklyn (who I swear is part hobbit -- four meals a day). (Cricket eats only kibble, so it's just a matter of making sure her bin stays filled.)

Also, I've taken six walks (though none longer than .7km), ordered some of my favorite groceries (including fish-other-than-salmon and bread-other-than-plain), and gotten a fair amount of work done on the HyperSpace Express website. In particular, the Books page, from which you can find out where to get N's book, The World As It Ought to Be, and subscribe to her newsletter.

And I have somehow managed to log a two-year streak in Duolingo. For what that's worth. Lately that hasn't been much.

I have gotten somewhat less done yesterday and today, because OVFF over Zoom.

Those of us with hidden disabilities may be interested in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Official website Disabilities index, search (The list is extensive.)

I moved into my new cube in the San Jose office yesterday. Actually got a little real work done as well. It will take a while to get fully settled. I cleverly left behind the little server we're using for internal trials, to minimize the disruption that would have been caused by taking it down and changing its IP address. So naturally, it's now on a network segment that can't be reached from the new office. :P

The Pegasus Awards - 2010 Brainstorming Poll results are up on the web -- I'm listed in the "Best Songwriter" category, and have two songs -- "Quiet Victories" and "The River" -- mentioned under "Best Song". I don't recall sending in a brainstorming entry this year, so don't blame me. I'm not complaining.

A few more links up there under the cut.

SQUEEEE!

The 2009 Pegasus Awards Final Ballot is up, and I'm on it! In the "best writer/composer" category.

Just being nominated is a big honor, of course. But if you want to evaluate my credentials as a songwriter, go to the song index on my website.

(Added 11:33) My congratulations to my fellow nominees, of course. And I just want to add that if I'm the only filker you know on that ballot, or if you have no idea what filk is, you shouldn't vote.

The 2006 Pegasus Award winners have been announced. I voted with the majority on three out of six this year, which is an unusually high percentage for me. My three non-winners were "A Thousand Ships", "Ship of Stone", and "No Quarter". I was particularly pleased to see Cynthia McQuillin win for Best Writer/Composer, and particularly unhappy to see "Ship of Stone" not win Best Classic Filk Song. Next year. (\me shakes fist defiantly at the sky)

The deadline for voting for the 2006 Pegasus Awards is approaching -- get your ballot in by October 16th.

My thoughts. Don't click here if you don't want to know how I'm voting )

A new recording of Pegasus nominee "Ship of Stone", by Don Simpson, can be found here -- this is from my concert at Baycon 2006, with Callie Hills ([livejournal.com profile] cflute) on flute. (I have Don's permission to post it.)
