After getting back from a delicious Mother's Day brunch at Trader Vic's in Palo Alto, I spent 45 minutes or so fixing the drip irrigation system in the front yard. It had been pretty thoroughly trashed by the gardeners, who recently attacked the yard with rakes and shovels and other implements of destruction. High-powered weed whackers are especially hard on vinyl tubing.
